Icing

  • 1 cup powdered sugar Sweetness that complements the tang.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  • Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
  • Remove from heat. Stir in the granulated sugar until well combined.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, followed by stirring in the vanilla extract until smooth.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, lemon zest, and fresh lemon juice.
  • Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.

Baking

  • Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Icing and Serving

  • While the brownies are baking, prepare the lemon icing by whisking together the powdered sugar and 2 tablespoons of lemon juice until smooth.
  • Once the brownies are done, remove them from the oven and let them cool in the pan for about 10 minutes.
  • Pour the lemon icing over the warm brownies, spreading it evenly.
  • Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.

Notes
