- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 cups chocolate chips/chunks
Instructions
- Cream the butter until smooth, then add brown sugar and granulated sugar; mix until fluffy.
- Beat in eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually combine the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients; mix on low speed until just blended.
- Fold in chocolate chips.
- Refrigerate the dough for at least 2 hours, preferably 24-72 hours.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Scoop dough onto baking sheets, leaving space between each. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden.
- Cool on baking sheets for 5-10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For a chewier texture, chill the dough before baking. You can also freeze the cookie dough for future use.
