Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips/chunks

Instructions

  1. Cream the butter until smooth, then add brown sugar and granulated sugar; mix until fluffy.
  2. Beat in eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla extract.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Gradually combine the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients; mix on low speed until just blended.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips.
  6. Refrigerate the dough for at least 2 hours, preferably 24-72 hours.
  7. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  8. Scoop dough onto baking sheets, leaving space between each. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden.
  9. Cool on baking sheets for 5-10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For a chewier texture, chill the dough before baking. You can also freeze the cookie dough for future use.
