- 1 package of wonton wrappers
- 1 pound ground chicken or turkey
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 2 cups water
- 2 cups bok choy, chopped
- 1 cup sliced mushrooms
- 2 green onions, sliced
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Prepare the wonton filling by combining the ground chicken or turkey, soy sauce, sesame oil, grated ginger, and minced garlic in a mixing bowl.
- Mix until all ingredients are thoroughly blended.
- Assemble the wontons by placing a teaspoon of filling in the center of a wonton wrapper.
- Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water and fold in half to form a triangle, pressing to seal.
- Pinch the two corners of the triangle together to close the wonton.
- Repeat the process until all wontons are prepared.
- Bring the chicken broth and water to a gentle boil in a large pot.
- Carefully add the wontons to the pot and cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until they float.
- Stir in the bok choy and sliced mushrooms and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve hot, garnished with sliced green onions.
Notes
For a spicier soup, add hot sauce to taste. You can also freeze uncooked wontons for later use.
