Description

A delightful dish featuring tender chicken and crisp broccoli in a spicy, rich sauce with ginger and garlic.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound chicken breast, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the chicken: In a large pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the sliced chicken and season with a pinch of salt and pepper. Cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove chicken and set aside.
  2. Sauté the broccoli: In the same pan, add more oil if necessary, then add broccoli florets. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until bright green and slightly tender.
  3. Add the aromatics: Once the broccoli is cooked to your liking, add minced ginger and garlic. Sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Combine ingredients: Return cooked chicken to the pan. Pour in soy sauce, oyster sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, sugar, and red pepper flakes. Stir to combine thoroughly.
  5. Thicken the sauce: Stir in cornstarch mixture and allow to cook for another 2-3 minutes until sauce thickens and coats the chicken and broccoli.
  6. Serve: Serve hot over rice or noodles.

Notes

For best flavor, marinate the chicken in soy sauce and ginger for 30 minutes before cooking. Substitute low-sodium soy sauce or add more veggies for a healthier option.
