- 3 cloves garlic, halved
- Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cubed
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 6 ears corn, husks removed and halved
- 3 tablespoons chopped fresh chives
Instructions
- Combine 4 cups of water, the halved garlic, salt, and pepper in a large stockpot over medium heat.
- Bring the mixture to a boil.
- Reduce the heat and let it simmer for 10 minutes.
- Stir in the whole milk, cubed butter, and brown sugar.
- Add the halved corn ears to the pot.
- Return to a boil, then reduce heat and let the corn simmer until tender, about 10 minutes.
- Serve garnished with freshly chopped chives.
Notes
Use fresh, in-season corn for best results. Adjust sweetness of the dish according to your preference.
