Description

A delightful homemade Strawberry Swirl Ice Cream that captures the essence of summer with fresh strawberries and a creamy base.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and mashed
  • 2 tablespoons sugar (for the strawberry swirl)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Combine the heavy cream, whole milk, sugar, and vanilla extract in a large bowl. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  2. Pour the mixture into your ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions (about 20-25 minutes).
  3. Place the mashed strawberries in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add 2 tablespoons of sugar and lemon juice, stirring and cooking for about 5-7 minutes until it becomes syrupy.
  4. Remove from heat and let it cool completely.
  5. Transfer the churned ice cream to an airtight container and drizzle the strawberry swirl over it. Gently swirl with a spoon or spatula.
  6. Freeze for at least 240 minutes or until it firms up.
  7. Scoop into bowls or cones and enjoy!

Notes

For best results, use ripe fresh strawberries, and consider pairing the ice cream with chocolate drizzle or crushed nuts.
