- 1/2 cup strawberry puree
Instructions
- Prepare the Strawberry Base: In a large bowl, combine the sliced strawberries with the 1/2 cup of granulated sugar and lemon juice. Gently stir to coat the strawberries evenly and let them sit for 10-15 minutes.
- Mash the Strawberries: Once the strawberries have softened, you can mash them with a fork for a chunky texture or blend them for a smoother consistency.
- Make the Cream Mixture: In a separate bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, whole milk, the remaining 3/4 cup of granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until the sugar has dissolved.
- Combine Ingredients: Add the strawberry puree from your prepared strawberry mixture into the cream mixture and stir gently.
- Churn the Ice Cream: Pour the mixture into your ice cream maker and churn until thick and creamy.
- Freeze: Transfer the ice cream to an airtight container and freeze for at least 4 hours until firm.
