Ingredients

  • 4 large egg whites
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1 tbsp powdered sugar
  • Fresh mint leaves (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the tart crust by blind-baking it for 10-12 minutes until golden.
  3. While the crust cools, pour your egg whites into a mixing bowl.
  4. Beat them with an electric mixer until soft peaks form.
  5. Gradually incorporate the granulated sugar until stiff peaks form.
  6. Add vanilla extract, and fold gently to combine.
  7. Spoon or pipe the meringue onto the cooled tart crust.
  8. Bake the meringue for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Once the meringue cools, arrange the strawberries on top.
  10. Dust with powdered sugar and add mint leaves for decoration.

Notes

Ensure your egg whites are free from yolk for best results. Experiment with a piping bag for decorative peaks.
