Description

Delicate and elegant Strawberry French Macarons with a creamy strawberry filling that encapsulate joy and sophistication.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 3/4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 4 large egg whites
  • 1/4 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pink food coloring (optional)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar (for filling)
  • 1/4 cup strawberry jam

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C) and prepare your baking sheets by lining them with parchment paper.
  2. Measure and sift together the powdered sugar and almond flour in a mixing bowl.
  3. Beat the egg whites in a clean bowl with the cream of tartar until soft peaks form, then add the granulated sugar and continue to beat until stiff peaks form.
  4. Fold in the vanilla extract and a few drops of pink food coloring, if desired.
  5. Gently fold the dry mixture into the meringue until the batter is smooth.
  6. Transfer the batter into a piping bag and pipe small circles onto the prepared baking sheets.
  7. Tap the baking sheets on the counter to release air bubbles.
  8. Let the piped macarons sit at room temperature for 30-60 minutes to form a skin.
  9. Bake the macarons for 15-18 minutes, then let them cool completely on the sheets.
  10. Beat the softened butter with powdered sugar until light and fluffy, then fold in the strawberry jam.
  11. Pipe the filling onto half of the macarons and sandwich them together.

Notes

Be careful not to overmix the batter and ensure macarons dry before baking for best results.
