A delightful pastry combining flaky puff pastry with a rich cream cheese filling and sweet strawberries.

- 4 cups sliced strawberries
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 8 oz. cream cheese, room temperature
- ½ cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 puff pastry sheets, thawed
- 1 large egg, lightly beaten with 1 teaspoon water
- 2 – 3 tablespoons sugar for topping, optional
- ¼ cup strawberry jam, optional for topping
- 1 cup powdered sugar for glaze
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract for glaze
- 2 – 3 tablespoons milk
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, toss the sliced strawberries with cornstarch and sugar. Set aside for 10-15 minutes.
- In another bowl, mix the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Roll out thawed puff pastry sheets and cut into 4×4 inch squares.
- Place a dollop of cream cheese mixture and a spoonful of strawberry mixture in the center of each square. Fold corners to seal.
- Brush tops with egg wash and sprinkle with sugar if desired.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake pastries on a lined baking sheet for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Mix powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk for glaze until smooth.
- Allow pastries to cool before drizzling with glaze. Serve warm.

Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor. These pastries freeze beautifully before baking.
