Delicious sweet rolls combining cheesecake and strawberries with a creamy filling.

- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup whole milk, warmed
- 1/4 cup warm water
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for filling)
- 1/2 cup fresh strawberries, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar (for filling)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract (for filling)
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 2–3 tbsp heavy cream or milk (for glaze)
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (for glaze)
Instructions
- Combine warm milk, water, and granulated sugar in a large bowl.
- Sprinkle yeast over this liquid and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- Add melted butter, egg, and salt to the yeast mixture.
- Gradually add in the flour, stirring until a dough begins to form.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise for 1-1.5 hours until doubled in size.
- Prepare the filling by beating together cream cheese, granulated sugar, powdered sugar, strawberries, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Roll out the risen dough into a large rectangle, approximately 12×18 inches.
- Spread the cheesecake filling evenly over the dough.
- Roll the dough into a log and slice into 8-10 rolls.
- Place the rolls in a greased baking dish, ensuring they’re close together.
- Cover the rolls and let them rise again for 30-45 minutes until puffed.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Make the glaze by whisking powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and heavy cream or milk until smooth.
- Drizzle the glaze over the warm rolls after cooling for 5 minutes.
Notes
Adding a pinch of cinnamon or lemon zest can enhance flavor. You can also use frozen strawberries, just thaw and drain before mixing.
