Description

Delightful rolls filled with a creamy cheesecake mixture and topped with juicy strawberries, perfect for breakfast or dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 1 tbsp milk (for glaze)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Activate your yeast by dissolving it in warm milk combined with granulated sugar. Let sit for 5 minutes or until frothy.
  2. Combine the melted butter, egg, and salt in a large mixing bowl. Pour in the activated yeast mixture and stir until combined.
  3. Incorporate the flour gradually, one cup at a time, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Transfer to a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour.
  5. Prepare the cheesecake filling by beating the cream cheese, powdered sugar, heavy cream, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  6. Combine the chopped strawberries with sugar and lemon juice in a small bowl and let macerate for 15 minutes.
  7. Punch down the risen dough, roll it into a rectangle, spread the cheesecake filling evenly, and roll tightly into a log.
  8. Slice the log into 12 pieces and place in a greased baking dish. Cover and let rise for 30 minutes while preheating the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  9. Bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Prepare the glaze by whisking together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract.
  11. Drizzle the glaze over warm rolls and top with macerated strawberries. Serve immediately.

Notes

For best results, ensure your yeast is fresh and your kitchen is warm for rising. Consider adding lemon zest for extra flavor.
