Description
A sumptuous dish that beautifully marries the flavors of tender beef, succulent shrimp, and vibrant vegetables, wrapped in a satisfying mix of noodles.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb steak (sirloin or flank steak), thinly sliced
- 1/2 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 8 oz noodles (rice noodles or lo mein noodles)
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 onion, sliced
- 1 bell pepper, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1-inch piece of ginger, grated
- 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Begin by cooking the noodles according to the package instructions, usually taking about 10 minutes. Drain them well and set aside for later.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Once the oil is shimmering, add the sliced steak. Sauté until browned—this should take approximately 3-4 minutes. Afterward, remove the steak from the skillet and set it aside on a plate.
- Next, in the same skillet, add the shrimp. Cook for 2-3 minutes until they turn pink and opaque. Remove them from the skillet and join the steak on the side.
- Return to the skillet once more and add the second tablespoon of oil. Toss in the onion, bell pepper, garlic, and ginger, stir-frying for about 3-4 minutes until the vegetables soften beautifully.
- Add the cooked noodles into the skillet, followed by the soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, and sesame oil. Toss everything together, ensuring the noodles are well-coated with the luscious sauce.
- Now, reintroduce the steak and shrimp into the skillet, mixing everything with the noodles and vegetables. Stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes until all ingredients are heated through.
- Don’t forget to season your dish with salt and pepper according to taste.
- For a touch of flair, garnish with chopped green onions and a sprinkle of sesame seeds, if desired. Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
For a burst of flavor, consider marinating the steak in soy sauce and ginger for 30 minutes before cooking. Add chili flakes for spice and have your ingredients prepped for quicker stir-frying.
