- 1 lb ground beef (80% lean)
- 4 hamburger buns
- 4 slices pepper jack cheese
- 1 fresh jalapeño, sliced (seeds removed for less heat)
- 1/2 red onion, sliced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon Sriracha sauce
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Lettuce, for garnish (optional)
- Pickles, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your grill or stovetop griddle over medium-high heat.
- Combine mayonnaise, Sriracha sauce, ketchup, and a pinch of salt and pepper in a small bowl.
- Form the ground beef into four equal-sized patties, seasoning each one generously.
- Oil the grill or griddle lightly with olive oil.
- Place your burger patties on the grill and cook for approximately 4-5 minutes per side.
- Add a slice of pepper jack cheese on each patty just before they are done.
- Toast your hamburger buns lightly on the grill or in a toaster.
- Assemble your burgers by spreading the spicy mayo sauce on the bottom half of each toasted bun.
- Top with the burger patties, jalapeño slices, red onion, and any additional garnishes.
- Complete with the top half of the bun and serve immediately!
Notes
For extra flavor, mix spices into the ground beef and experiment with toppings.
