Description
A flavorful dish combining seared steak and pasta enveloped in a tangy honey BBQ sauce with a spicy kick.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 steaks (flank or ribeye, sliced thinly against the grain)
- 8 oz pasta (penne or fusilli)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 cup BBQ sauce
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1 tsp sriracha or hot sauce (adjust to taste)
- 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup bell pepper, chopped
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley or cilantro, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Begin by cooking the pasta according to package instructions in a pot of salted boiling water. Once al dente, drain it well and set aside.
- In a large pan, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat. Season the sliced steak generously with salt and pepper and sear for 2-3 minutes per side until browned. Remove the steak and set it aside.
- Add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil to the pan. Toss in the finely chopped onion and bell pepper, sautéing for 3-4 minutes until softened. Add the minced garlic and sauté for an additional minute.
- Reduce the heat and stir in the BBQ sauce, honey, and sriracha. Let it simmer for 2 minutes.
- Return the cooked pasta and seared steak to the pan, tossing everything together to ensure it’s well coated in the sauce.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley or cilantro if desired.
Notes
Consider marinating the steak for at least an hour for enhanced flavor. Adjust sriracha for desired spice level.
