Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.
- Whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl.
- Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar in another bowl until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg, followed by the red food coloring and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- Scoop a tablespoon of dough, flatten it, fill with Nutella, and roll it into a ball.
- Place the cookie dough balls on the prepared baking sheet with enough space between them.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.
- Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
Use room temperature butter for maximum fluffiness. Consider adding nuts or a sprinkle of sea salt before baking.
