Description

Delightful bars combining the rich flavors of maple syrup with a soft, tender texture. Perfect for breakfast or as a snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup milk (whole or non-dairy)
  • 1/4 cup melted butter (cooled)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and grease a baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and mix in the maple syrup, milk, and melted butter.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Once cooled, whisk together powdered sugar and milk to create a glaze and drizzle over the bars.

Notes

Optional: add a pinch of nutmeg or fold in nuts/chocolate chips for extra flavor. Serve with coffee or tea!
