Description

Enjoy the authentic taste of Philadelphia with this savory hoagie loaded with tender steak, caramelized peppers, and melted provolone cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb thinly sliced beef steak
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 red or yellow bell pepper, sliced
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • 4 slices provolone cheese

Instructions

  1. Drizzle olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and bell peppers to the skillet. Let them sauté for 5-7 minutes until soft and slightly caramelized. Remove and set aside.
  2. Increase the heat and add the thinly sliced beef steak. Cook for 3-4 minutes until browned. Stir in Worcestershire sauce and garlic powder. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Split the hoagie rolls down the center and place on a baking sheet. Layer provolone cheese, followed by steak, and then sautéed peppers and onions.
  4. Broil the hoagies for 1-2 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  5. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

For the best results, avoid overcooking the beef and keep an eye on the cheese while broiling.
