Description

A decadent dessert combining rich red velvet cake layers with creamy cheesecake, beautifully presented in a trifle dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box red velvet cake mix (or homemade red velvet cake)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips (optional)
  • Fresh raspberries for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven and prepare the red velvet cake according to package instructions.
  2. Bake in a 9×13-inch pan and let cool completely before cutting into cubes.
  3. In a large bowl, beat cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth, then add vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whip heavy cream and sugar until stiff peaks form.
  5. Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture.
  6. In a trifle dish or glasses, layer red velvet cake cubes followed by cheesecake filling. Repeat until all ingredients are used.
  7. Top with cheesecake filling and garnish if desired.
  8. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

For an even richer flavor, consider using buttermilk instead of water in your red velvet cake mix.
