- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tbsp powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Fresh berries (for garnish)
- Red velvet cake crumbs (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9-inch springform pan with parchment paper and cooking spray.
- In a mixing bowl, sift together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add buttermilk, vegetable oil, egg, vanilla extract, red food coloring, and white vinegar to the dry ingredients and mix until smooth.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let it cool completely.
- In a separate bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar until creamy. Mix in sour cream, eggs, vanilla, and flour until just combined.
- Pour the cheesecake mixture over the cooled red velvet cake layer.
- Bake the cheesecake for 40-50 minutes until the edges are set but the center is still slightly jiggly.
- Allow to cool for an hour at room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until stiff peaks form, then spread over the top of the cheesecake.
- Garnish with fresh berries and red velvet cake crumbs, then slice and serve chilled.
Notes
Avoid over-mixing the cheesecake filling once the eggs are added to prevent air bubbles. Consider using a water bath to prevent cracks.
