Ingredients

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 additional egg
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  3. Melt the butter in a medium bowl, then whisk in the sugar until silky.
  4. Add the eggs one by one, mixing thoroughly after each.
  5. Stir in the vanilla extract and red food coloring.
  6. Whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt in another bowl.
  7. Fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture.
  8. Spread the brownie batter evenly into the lined pan.
  9. Beat the cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Add another egg and the vanilla extract.
  10. Drop spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture onto the brownie batter and swirl gently.
  11. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
  12. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
