- 1 box white cake mix
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup water
- Purple gel food coloring (light, medium, dark tones)
- 1 cup butter (softened)
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare mini cake pans by greasing and flouring them.
- Combine the white cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, and water in a mixing bowl, following package instructions to create a smooth batter.
- Divide the batter into three separate bowls and add purple gel food coloring to each to create a light, medium, and dark hue.
- Pour each colored batter into the mini pans to achieve a gradient look.
- Bake for about 15–20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow the cakes to cool completely before frosting.
- Beat the softened butter until fluffy, then gradually add powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to achieve a smooth consistency.
- Frost the cooled mini cakes and decorate them with ombre frosting.
Notes
For a more vibrant color, add more gel food coloring. Experiment with different flavors in frosting for an unexpected twist.
