Delightful mini cakes featuring a beautiful gradient of purple hues, making for a visually stunning and delicious treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box white cake mix
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup water
  • Purple gel food coloring (light, medium, dark tones)
  • 1 cup butter (softened)
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare mini cake pans by greasing and flouring them.
  2. Combine the white cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, and water in a mixing bowl, following package instructions to create a smooth batter.
  3. Divide the batter into three separate bowls and add purple gel food coloring to each to create a light, medium, and dark hue.
  4. Pour each colored batter into the mini pans to achieve a gradient look.
  5. Bake for about 15–20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Allow the cakes to cool completely before frosting.
  7. Beat the softened butter until fluffy, then gradually add powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to achieve a smooth consistency.
  8. Frost the cooled mini cakes and decorate them with ombre frosting.

Notes

For a more vibrant color, add more gel food coloring. Experiment with different flavors in frosting for an unexpected twist.
