Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Combine peanut butter, granulated sugar, egg, vanilla extract, baking soda, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Stir the mixture vigorously until thick and well combined.
  4. Roll tablespoon-sized portions of dough into balls and place them 2 inches apart on the baking sheet.
  5. Press each ball gently with a fork to create a crisscross pattern.
  6. Bake for about 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden brown.
  7. Allow them to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes.
  8. Melt the caramel candies with 1 tablespoon of milk in a microwave-safe bowl, heating in 30-second intervals until smooth.
  9. Drizzle the melted caramel over the cooled cookies and sprinkle with sea salt if desired.
  10. Let the caramel set before serving.
