- 1 loaf of brioche bread, sliced
- 6 large eggs, whisked
- 1 1/2 cups whole milk
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tsp vanilla extract (for topping)
- Powdered sugar (for dusting)
- Fresh berries (for serving)
- Maple syrup (for serving)
Instructions
- Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish and arrange the brioche slices in a single layer.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, whole milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt.
- Pour the egg mixture evenly over the brioche slices and press gently to soak.
- Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Combine the brown sugar, melted butter, and vanilla extract in a small bowl.
- Spread the brown sugar mixture evenly over the soaked bread.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
- Serve warm, dusted with powdered sugar, topped with fresh berries and maple syrup.
Notes
For best results, use day-old brioche and allow adequate soaking time.
