- 1 small head of cabbage (cut into thick slices)
- 1 1/2 lbs ground beef (or ground turkey for a lighter option)
- 1 small onion (finely chopped)
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your favorite)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 egg (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Slice the cabbage into 1/2 inch thick rounds and brush each side generously with olive oil.
- Combine the ground beef, chopped onions, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, Worcestershire sauce, and the optional egg in a mixing bowl.
- Form patties from the meat mixture that are similar in size to your cabbage rounds.
- Arrange the cabbage burgers on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving space between each one.
- Bake for approximately 25 minutes.
- Remove the tray from the oven and sprinkle shredded cheese over each patty, then broil for an additional 3-5 minutes until melted.
- Garnish with fresh herbs or a drizzle of sauce before serving hot.
Notes
For a bit of heat, add red pepper flakes to the meat mixture. Explore different cheeses for added flavor.
