Description

A delightful dessert capturing the essence of summer in every creamy, citrusy bite, reminiscent of orange creamsicle popsicles.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 16 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup fresh orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • 1/4 cup orange gelatin (Jell-O)
  • 1 teaspoon orange extract

Instructions

  1. Combine the graham cracker crumbs and sugar in a medium bowl.
  2. Stir in the melted butter until evenly coated.
  3. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan.
  4. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
  5. Beat the softened cream cheese until smooth in a separate bowl.
  6. Add powdered sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until fully combined.
  7. Whip the heavy cream in another bowl until stiff peaks form.
  8. Fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture gently.
  9. Add fresh orange juice, orange zest, orange gelatin, and orange extract to the mixture.
  10. Fold until everything is well incorporated.
  11. Pour the cheesecake mixture onto the chilled graham cracker crust.
  12. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight.
  13. Serve garnished with additional orange zest or whipped cream.

Notes

For an extra burst of orange flavor, incorporate extra orange zest into the cream cheese mixture. You can also substitute for a chocolate cookie crust.
