Description

Delightful Maryland Crab Cakes bringing the flavors of the Chesapeake Bay to your kitchen with crispy outsides and tender, flavorful insides.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb fresh crab meat
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp Old Bay seasoning
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped parsley
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • Lemon wedges for serving
  • Tartar sauce for serving

Instructions

  1. Combine the fresh crab meat, breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, egg, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay seasoning, parsley, salt, and pepper in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Form the mixture into small patties, about 2-3 inches in diameter.
  3. Heat 1 tablespoon of butter in a large skillet over medium heat and carefully add the crab cakes.
  4. Cook the crab cakes for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
  5. Remove the crab cakes from the skillet and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  6. Serve hot with lemon wedges and tartar sauce on the side.

Notes

Gently fold the mixture to maintain the crab meat’s integrity. For best results, chill the patties in the fridge for about 30 minutes before cooking.
