Description

A classic dessert featuring layers of creamy vanilla pudding, ripe bananas, and crunchy vanilla wafers that evoke nostalgic flavors.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (14 oz) can of sweetened condensed milk
  • 1½ cups ice-cold water
  • 1 (3.4 oz) package of instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 3 cups heavy cream
  • 1 (11 oz) box of vanilla wafers
  • 5 ripe bananas, sliced

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the sweetened condensed milk and ice-cold water until combined. Gradually add the instant vanilla pudding mix, beating until smooth. Cover and refrigerate for at least 240 minutes.
  2. Whip the heavy cream in a separate bowl until stiff peaks form.
  3. Gently fold the whipped cream into the chilled pudding mixture until smooth.
  4. In a trifle dish, layer vanilla wafers, sliced bananas, and pudding mixture, repeating the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with pudding on top.
  5. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 240 minutes, ideally overnight.
  6. Before serving, garnish with additional banana slices and vanilla wafers.

Notes

Use ripe bananas for the best flavor and prepare a day in advance for improved taste.
