Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl.
- Mix softened butter and sugar in a larger bowl until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg, vanilla, and almond extracts, beating until smooth.
- Gradually mix in the dry ingredients to form a dough, adding milk if necessary to soften.
- Roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thick on a floured surface.
- Use a cookie cutter to shape the cookies and place them on baking sheets.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes until edges turn light golden brown.
- Cool on a wire rack before decorating with royal icing.
