Instructions

  2. Whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl.
  3. Mix softened butter and sugar in a larger bowl until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the egg, vanilla, and almond extracts, beating until smooth.
  5. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients to form a dough, adding milk if necessary to soften.
  6. Roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thick on a floured surface.
  7. Use a cookie cutter to shape the cookies and place them on baking sheets.
  8. Bake for 8-10 minutes until edges turn light golden brown.
  9. Cool on a wire rack before decorating with royal icing.
