Description

A refreshing dessert that combines the tangy brightness of lemons and limes with a creamy filling, all nestled in a buttery graham cracker crust.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ¾ cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 8 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • ¾ cup heavy whipping cream
  • 8 oz block of cream cheese, softened
  • 14 oz can of sweetened condensed milk
  • ½ tsp fresh lemon zest
  • ½ tsp fresh key lime zest
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • â…“ cup sour cream
  • ¼ cup lemon juice
  • ¼ cup key lime juice
  • ½ cup heavy whipping cream (for topping)
  • Lemon and lime slices (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Start this delicious journey by making the crust. In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs with sugar, then add the melted butter to create a sandy mixture.
  2. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom and up the sides of a pie dish, forming an even layer. Place the dish in the freezer for about 10 minutes.
  3. In a separate mixing bowl, whip ¾ cup of heavy whipping cream until stiff peaks form, then set it aside.
  4. Beat the softened cream cheese with the sweetened condensed milk until smooth and creamy.
  5. Add the fresh lemon zest, key lime zest, and vanilla extract, mixing until fully incorporated.
  6. Mix in the sour cream, lemon juice, and key lime juice, allowing these vibrant flavors to meld.
  7. Carefully fold in the whipped cream you set aside, being gentle to maintain the lightness of the mixture.
  8. Remove the crust from the freezer and pour the filling into your prepared crust. Spread it evenly and smooth the top.
  9. Chill the filled pie in the refrigerator for at least 120 minutes or until set.
  10. Whip the remaining ½ cup of heavy cream into soft peaks and spoon it over the pie.
  11. Decorate with fresh lemon and lime slices before serving.

Notes

For the best flavor, use fresh citrus juice and zest. Allow cream cheese to soften at room temperature before mixing.
