Description

A vibrant dish combining tender beef and fluffy rice, encapsulating the savory flavors of Korean BBQ in a visually appealing stack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups cooked white rice, warm and fluffy
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds, for garnish
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Combine soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, rice vinegar, and gochujang in a medium bowl to create the marinade.
  2. Add the thinly sliced flank steak to the marinade, ensuring each piece is coated. Marinate for at least 10 minutes.
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add vegetable oil. Cook the marinated beef for about 5-7 minutes until browned and cooked through.
  4. Warm the cooked rice in the microwave or on the stove until steaming hot.
  5. Layer the warm rice on a plate and top with the cooked beef.
  6. Sprinkle sesame seeds and chopped green onions over the beef as a garnish.
  7. Serve hot and enjoy the delicious flavors!

Notes

For deeper flavor, marinate the beef longer. Optionally, substitute flank steak with chicken or tofu.
