A delightful dessert combining chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry layers, perfect for any gathering.

- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 2 ½ tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 ¾ cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup whole milk
- ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 tbsp milk
- ¼ cup strawberry puree (or strawberry jam)
- 2–3 drops red food coloring (optional)
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened (for frosting)
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 2–3 tbsp heavy cream
- 1 tsp vanilla extract (for frosting)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Cream the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs and vanilla extract one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Gradually mix in the dry mixture and whole milk, alternating until just combined.
- Divide the batter into three bowls; leave one plain, mix cocoa powder into the second, and stir in strawberry puree and optional food coloring into the third.
- Pour each flavored batter into prepared cake pans and bake for 25-30 minutes.
- Cool the cakes before assembling them, layering chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry with frosting in between.
- Frost the outside of the cake and decorate as desired.
Notes
Use room temperature ingredients for the best results. Experiment with different fruit purees for unique flavors.
