Description
Crispy, golden-brown bites filled with gooey, melty cheese, perfect for game nights or cozy snacks.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz cheese (mozzarella, cheddar, or your favorite), cut into cubes
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko for extra crunch)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
- 1 teaspoon onion powder (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)
- Marinara sauce (for dipping, optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the cheese: Begin by cutting your cheese into bite-sized cubes. Freeze the cubes for about 30 minutes.
- Set up the breading station: In three bowls, place the flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs mixed with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Coat the cheese: Toss each cube in the flour, dip into the beaten eggs, then roll in the breadcrumb mixture until fully coated.
- Heat the oil: In a deep skillet, pour about 2 inches of oil and warm over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the cheese bites: Carefully place a few coated cheese bites in the hot oil, frying until golden brown, approximately 2-3 minutes.
- Drain and cool: Remove the fried cheese bites with a slotted spoon and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- Serve warm: Enjoy these crispy bites with marinara sauce for dipping.
