- 2 large onions, sliced into thick rings
- 4 slices of cheese (American, Swiss, or your favorite variety)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional condiments (mustard, ketchup)
- Olive oil or cooking spray for grilling
Instructions
- Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Coat it lightly with olive oil or cooking spray.
- Slice the onions into thick rings, about ½ inch thick.
- Season the ground beef with salt and pepper. Form the beef into patties that are slightly larger than the onion rings.
- Grill the onion rings for 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally until caramelized and tender.
- Grill the beef patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip, add cheese, and cook until melted.
- Assemble the burgers by layering an onion ring, a beef patty, and another onion ring.
- Serve hot with your choice of condiments.
Notes
