Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 12-cup muffin tin with colorful cupcake liners.
- Whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl.
- Beat the butter and sugar in a large bowl with an electric mixer until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients, alternating with grape soda and milk, mixing until just combined.
- Divide the batter evenly among the liners, filling each about two-thirds full.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool the cupcakes in the tin for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Beat the softened butter for the frosting until smooth, then gradually add the powdered sugar and beat well.
- Mix in the grape soda and vanilla extract until smooth, adding purple food coloring if desired.
- Frost the cooled cupcakes with a piping bag or spatula.
Notes
For a festive touch, add edible glitter on top. Substitute some milk with extra grape soda for a stronger flavor.
