Ingredients

  • 400 grams sliced cremini mushrooms
  • 2 tablespoons salted butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 1 tablespoon dried onion flakes
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated havarti cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated swiss cheese
  • 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup green onions, thinly sliced
  • 4 slices sourdough bread

Instructions

  1. Add the olive oil and butter to a skillet over medium-high heat. Once melted, add the sliced mushrooms and sprinkle with salt and black pepper.
  2. Cook the mushrooms for about five minutes. Next, add the Worcestershire sauce, stir, and let cook for another five minutes until deep brown. Remove from skillet and cool.
  3. Combine mayonnaise, sour cream, and melted butter in a bowl and whisk until mixed. Then stir in the minced garlic, onion flakes, and black pepper.
  4. Add the four cheeses and green onions to the creamy mixture and gently fold until blended.
  5. Prepare a baking sheet, placing sourdough slices in a single layer. Broil until tops are lightly browned, flipping to toast both sides.
  6. Allow toasted bread to cool slightly. Fold cooled mushrooms into the cheese mixture and spread on each toast.
  7. Top each toast with reserved mushroom slices. Broil until cheese is bubbling and golden, about 3-5 minutes.
  8. Garnish with green onions and serve immediately.
