Description
A delightful dish featuring tender cod fillets bathed in a savory-sweet ginger soy glaze.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cod fillets (about 6 oz each)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
- 1 tbsp garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp sesame seeds (for garnish)
- 2 tbsp green onions, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Prepare the Ginger Soy Glaze: In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the soy sauce, honey, grated ginger, minced garlic, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Stir occasionally and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Allow it to thicken for about 5-7 minutes.
- Cook the Cod: While the glaze is simmering, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season the cod fillets with salt and pepper on both sides. When the oil is hot, carefully add the fillets to the skillet. Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side.
- Glaze the Cod: Once the cod is cooked, reduce the heat to low. Pour the ginger soy glaze over the fish, letting it cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
- Garnish and Serve: Remove the skillet from heat. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions. Serve immediately with steamed rice or sautéed vegetables.
Notes
For deeper flavor, marinate the cod in a portion of the glaze for 30 minutes before cooking.
