Description
Crispy fried mushrooms paired with a creamy ranch dip, perfect for snacking or entertaining.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb fresh mushrooms, sliced
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko preferred)
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 1 tablespoon ranch seasoning mix
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
Instructions
- Prepare three shallow bowls. In the first bowl, combine the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Beat the egg until it’s smooth and slightly frothy in the second bowl.
- Pour breadcrumbs into the third bowl, ensuring they’re ready for coating.
- Dip each mushroom slice first into the flour mixture, coating well. Then, immerse it in the beaten egg followed by rolling it through the breadcrumbs.
- Set the breaded mushroom slices aside on a plate while heating the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the coated mushroom slices in batches to the hot oil, frying them for about 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown and crisp.
- Transfer the mushrooms to a paper towel-lined plate to absorb any excess oil.
- Whisk together mayonnaise, sour cream, ranch seasoning, lemon juice, salt, and pepper in a small bowl for the dipping sauce.
- Serve the crispy fried mushrooms hot alongside the creamy ranch sauce for dipping.
Notes
Serve immediately for maximum crispiness. Consider experimenting with different spices for added flavor.
