Description

Crispy fried mushrooms paired with a creamy ranch dip, perfect for snacking or entertaining.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko preferred)
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon ranch seasoning mix
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Prepare three shallow bowls. In the first bowl, combine the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  2. Beat the egg until it’s smooth and slightly frothy in the second bowl.
  3. Pour breadcrumbs into the third bowl, ensuring they’re ready for coating.
  4. Dip each mushroom slice first into the flour mixture, coating well. Then, immerse it in the beaten egg followed by rolling it through the breadcrumbs.
  5. Set the breaded mushroom slices aside on a plate while heating the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  6. Add the coated mushroom slices in batches to the hot oil, frying them for about 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown and crisp.
  7. Transfer the mushrooms to a paper towel-lined plate to absorb any excess oil.
  8. Whisk together mayonnaise, sour cream, ranch seasoning, lemon juice, salt, and pepper in a small bowl for the dipping sauce.
  9. Serve the crispy fried mushrooms hot alongside the creamy ranch sauce for dipping.

Notes

Serve immediately for maximum crispiness. Consider experimenting with different spices for added flavor.
