Description

A quick and flavorful ramen dish with a thick, savory sauce that’s sure to satisfy.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 packs instant ramen noodles (discard seasoning packet)
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, minced
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth or water
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch (optional)
  • 1/2 tbsp chili paste or sriracha (optional)
  • 1 tbsp green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Start by cooking the ramen noodles according to the package instructions. Once they’re al dente, drain them and set them aside.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, rice vinegar, minced garlic, and minced ginger. Mix well until fully combined.
  3. Pour the chicken broth (or water) into a small saucepan and bring it to a simmer over medium heat. Add in the sauce mixture and stir to combine. Let it bubble gently for about 3-4 minutes.
  4. If you prefer a thicker sauce, dissolve the cornstarch in 2 tablespoons of water. Add it to the simmering sauce and stir well. Continue to simmer until thickened.
  5. Add the cooked ramen noodles to the saucepan with the sauce. Toss gently to coat evenly. Stir in chili paste or sriracha if desired.
  6. Once coated, remove the saucepan from heat. Serve in bowls and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds if using.
