Scale
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet active dry yeast (2 1/4 tsp)
- 1 cup warm water
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp fresh rosemary, chopped
- Coarse sea salt for topping
Instructions
- Combine the warm water, sugar, and yeast in a mixing bowl. Stir gently until mixed.
- Wait for about five minutes until the mixture is bubbly and foamy.
- Add the olive oil, flour, and salt to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
- Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about five minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover with a damp cloth. Let it rise for about an hour or until doubled in size.
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Punch down the dough to deflate it and place it on a greased baking sheet.
- Spread the dough to cover the surface and create dimples with your fingers.
- Drizzle more olive oil over the top and sprinkle with rosemary and coarse sea salt.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until golden brown.
- Let it cool slightly before slicing to enjoy.
Notes
For deeper flavors, let the dough rise longer. You can also experiment with different herbs and toppings.
