Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 (21-ounce) can premium canned cherry pie filling

Instructions

  1. Heat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Pour the melted butter into the bottom of an 8-inch square baking dish.
  3. Combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon in a bowl.
  4. Gradually add the milk and vanilla extract, stirring until smooth.
  5. Pour the batter over the melted butter without stirring.
  6. Spoon the cherry pie filling evenly over the batter.
  7. Bake for 40-45 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Cool for a few minutes before serving warm, preferably with ice cream.
