Description

A delightful dessert that combines the rich, moist texture of chocolate cake with the irresistible crunch of Butterfinger candy bars.


Ingredients

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup Butterfinger candy bars, chopped
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup Butterfinger candy bars, chopped for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour a 10-inch Bundt pan.
  2. Combine the chocolate cake mix, sour cream, melted butter, water, eggs, and vanilla extract in a large mixing bowl. Beat until smooth.
  3. Fold in the chopped Butterfinger pieces.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared Bundt pan, spreading it out evenly.
  5. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Cool the cake in the pan for 10-15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  7. Heat the heavy cream in a saucepan until it simmers.
  8. Remove from heat and pour over the chocolate chips. Stir until smooth.
  9. Drizzle the frosting over the cooled cake and garnish with additional Butterfinger pieces.
  10. Let the frosting set before serving.

Notes

For a deeper chocolate flavor, add a tablespoon of espresso powder. You can substitute ingredients to make it healthier if desired.
