- 1 box chocolate cake mix
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup water
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup Butterfinger candy bars, chopped
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup Butterfinger candy bars, chopped for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour a 10-inch Bundt pan.
- Combine the chocolate cake mix, sour cream, melted butter, water, eggs, and vanilla extract in a large mixing bowl. Beat until smooth.
- Fold in the chopped Butterfinger pieces.
- Pour the batter into the prepared Bundt pan, spreading it out evenly.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool the cake in the pan for 10-15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
- Heat the heavy cream in a saucepan until it simmers.
- Remove from heat and pour over the chocolate chips. Stir until smooth.
- Drizzle the frosting over the cooled cake and garnish with additional Butterfinger pieces.
- Let the frosting set before serving.
Notes
For a deeper chocolate flavor, add a tablespoon of espresso powder. You can substitute ingredients to make it healthier if desired.
