Description

Delightful Easter cookies shaped like chicks and flowers, perfect for family gatherings and celebrations.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 250g butter (room temperature)
  • 150g powdered sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 350g all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • White and colored icing (for decoration)
  • Food coloring (yellow, green, pink, blue)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together the butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract to the mixture and mix until thoroughly combined.
  4. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until the dough comes together.
  6. Divide the dough into two portions. Chill if too soft.
  7. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness.
  8. Cut out shapes with cookie cutters.
  9. Place the cookies onto the prepared baking sheet.
  10. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until lightly golden.
  11. Cool on a wire rack before decorating.
  12. Prepare the icing by adding food coloring to create different colors.
  13. Pipe and decorate cookies with colored icing.
  14. Let the icing dry completely before serving.

Notes

Consider adding lemon or orange zest for refreshing flavor. Store-bought icing can also save time.
