- 3/4 cup vegetable oil
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare two 8-inch round cake pans by greasing and flouring them.
- Combine the mashed bananas, sugar, brown sugar, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract in a large bowl.
- Whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl.
- Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the buttermilk.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Divide the batter evenly between the two prepared pans.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool in the pans for about 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Layer and frost as desired.
Notes
Use high-quality cocoa powder for better flavor. Don’t skip the buttermilk for moisture.
