Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup strawberry jam or preserves
- Fresh strawberries (diced, optional)
- 20–24 wonton wrappers
- Water (for sealing the edges)
- Vegetable oil (for frying)
- Whipped cream (for serving, optional)
- Extra strawberry jam or sauce (for serving, optional)
- Fresh strawberries (sliced, for serving, optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the filling: In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and strawberry jam. Blend until smooth and creamy, folding in diced fresh strawberries if desired.
- Assemble the wontons: Lay wonton wrappers on a clean surface and place a spoonful of the cheesecake filling in the center.
- Seal the wontons: Moisten the edges with water, fold to form a triangle or square, and press edges tightly to seal.
- Fry the wontons: Heat vegetable oil in a pot to 350°F (175°C), fry the wontons in batches for 2-3 minutes until golden brown, then drain on paper towels.
- Serve: Enjoy warm with whipped cream, a drizzle of strawberry jam, and fresh strawberry slices.
Notes
Avoid overfilling the wontons to prevent bursting during frying. Ensure oil is adequately heated.
