Instructions
- Combine chopped dates with hot brewed coffee in a medium bowl and let sit for 10 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a loaf pan.
- Whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a large bowl.
- Cream softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy, then add eggs and vanilla extract.
- Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined, then fold in the date-coffee mixture and walnuts.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 55-60 minutes.
- Cool the cake in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
- Whisk powdered sugar, brewed espresso, and vanilla for the glaze until smooth.
- Drizzle the glaze over the cooled cake and let set before slicing.

Soak the dates in hot coffee for enhanced sweetness and flavor depth. Avoid overmixing to keep the cake airy.
