- Oil for frying
- 2 sandwich buns
- 1/4 cup tartar sauce

Instructions
- Heat oil in a deep skillet or frying pan until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- Combine the flour, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder in a mixing bowl.
- Pour in the cold soda water, stirring until you achieve a smooth batter.
- Dip each cod fillet into the batter, letting excess drip off.
- Coat the batter-covered fillet with panko breadcrumbs.
- Fry the coated fillet for about 4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Toast the sandwich buns lightly while the cod fries.
- Remove the cod from the oil and let it rest on a paper towel.
- Assemble the sandwich with tartar sauce, lettuce, tomato slices, and the cod fillet.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
