Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup red velvet cake crumbs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon red food coloring (optional)
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/3 cup mini chocolate chips or shaved chocolate
  • Optional: Extra cake crumbs or chocolate drizzle for garnish

Instructions

  1. Whisk together the whole milk, granulated sugar, and cocoa powder until smooth.
  2. Stir in the heavy cream, vanilla extract, red food coloring (if using), and salt.
  3. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  4. Pour the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  5. Fold in the red velvet cake crumbs and mini chocolate chips during the last minutes of churning.
  6. Transfer the ice cream to a container and freeze for 3-4 hours.
  7. Scoop into bowls and garnish with extra cake crumbs or chocolate drizzle.

Notes
