Description
A delightful blend of rich flavors and comforting textures, this dip combines the zest of Buffalo sauce with creamy cheese, making it a perfect appetizer for any gathering.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons finely diced onions
- 2 tablespoons finely diced celery
- 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
- 4 oz cream cheese (room temperature)
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 2 tablespoons ranch or blue cheese salad dressing
- 1/2 cup Cholula brand Original hot sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
- 2 cups cooked, chopped chicken breast (1 lb uncooked)
- 1 1/2 cups mozzarella or cheddar cheese, divided
- 1–2 tablespoons heavy whipping cream
- 1–2 tablespoons fresh parsley/green onions and blue cheese crumbles (optional, for garnish)
- 1 loaf baguette (sliced, buttered, and toasted)
Instructions
- Melt the butter in a large deep skillet over medium heat. Add the diced onion and celery, sautéing until tender and fragrant. Then add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute.
- Reduce the heat to low and add the room-temperature cream cheese, stirring until it melts completely.
- Mix in the sour cream, salad dressing, and hot sauce, combining until smooth.
- Season the dip with paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and dried parsley. Stir in the chopped chicken breast until evenly coated.
- Incorporate half of the shredded cheese, stirring until fully melted. If the dip is too thick, stir in heavy whipping cream until desired consistency.
- Transfer the mixture to a casserole dish, smooth the top, and sprinkle the remaining shredded cheese over the dip. Broil on low until the cheese is melted and golden brown, about 3 to 5 minutes.
- Serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley or green onions and optional blue cheese crumbles, alongside toasted baguette slices for dipping.
Notes
Use room-temperature cream cheese for a smoother blend. Feel free to adjust the spice level with more or less hot sauce.
