- 12 jumbo pasta shells
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook the jumbo pasta shells according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat for 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in the minced garlic and Italian seasoning; cook for an additional 2 minutes.
- Season the mixture with salt and pepper to taste.
- Combine ricotta cheese, half of the mozzarella, Parmesan cheese, and egg in a bowl; mix until creamy.
- Fold in the cooked beef mixture.
- Spread 1 cup of marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
- Stuff each pasta shell with the ricotta-beef mixture and place them snugly in the dish.
- Pour the remaining marinara sauce over the stuffed shells and sprinkle with remaining mozzarella cheese.
- Cover the dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
Notes
Feel free to add extra cheese or red pepper flakes for a twist in flavor.
